Murdock homes does not charge a premium for a custom home. When you meet with us in one of our finished homes you will be able to see how your custom home will look and function. Here is how the process works:
Step 1. Select your neighborhood. You may select a home site in one of our neighborhoods or we can build on your own land.
Step 2. Select a plan. We use two of Oklahoma's finest home designers. Any of their stock plans are available, or we can have them design one to fit your needs.
Step 3. Review you plan. At this meeting we will take your home planned extract all of the details that we can. We will meet in one of our finished homes in order for you to see exactly the type of cabinets, flooring trim and light fixtures that you may select. This of course does not limit your selections.
Step 4. Deriving the estimate. Once we have a complete list of your choices we will produce an cost estimate of your home. At this point we can make any adjustments to the plan that may affect the purchase price.
Step 5.The contract.When we arrive at a firm sales price we are ready to go to contract. Our sales staff will produce the contract and explain all of the details. They can even assist you with securing you permanent financing if you so desire.
Step 6. The construction process begins. During this phase we will meet several time in you new home: A. At frame stage we will meet with the cabinet designer to properly lay out your kitchen and any other cabinets in the house. After this meeting we will go room by room with our electrician in order to locate each light, wall switch and any special electrical plugs. B. After the drywall contractors are finished we will meet with our trim carpenter to ensure all of the finish wood detail and closet configurations are correct. C. By this time you will have met with our in-house decorator in order to select all of your finishes. Brick, paint color,tile, carpet and faucet fixtures are all for your choosing.
Step 7. Completion of the home and warranty inspection.After the home is complete and all inspections are finaled you will have a walk-though inspection with our warranty representative. This will be conducted approximately ten days before closing to allow for touch-ups if any are required.
Step 8. Closing.This is conducted at a title company with the buyer, seller and any Realtors, if any, who are part of the contract.
Step 9. After the closing.If any questions or problems occur during the first year of your home ownership, we are at-your service. We are an Oklahoma family business and use Oklahoma family crews to build our homes. Some of our contractors are second generation Murdock Home team members.
